Technical guidance to the Albanian Ministry of Finance and Economy supported selection of a suitable archetype for the forthcoming national Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) system

Short-term Action Plan for the Comprehensive Migration Policy of Afghanistan
Supporting the Government of Afghanistan to develop the Action Plan for the Comprehensive Migration Policy with the Vice-Presidency of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation, Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and Ministry of Finance. The team organised and facilitated inter-ministerial discussions to support the Afghan government in specifying actions, responsibilities, budgets and timeframes linked to individual policy measures of the Comprehensive Migration Policy of Afghanistan.

Potential countries of destinations were screened looking at skills shortages, immigration systems and possibilities to lobby for regular recruitment of large number of pre-trained Nepali.

Labour and Skills Needs Assessment of migrant workers. Developed a model for ASEAN member countries to estimate sectoral needs of migrant workers in key occupational profiles, based on forecasting exercises of labour needs in the elderly care sector and the fisheries sectors, linked to recommendations for Thailand's migration policy and the TVET system.

▪ Developed a plan of reform for Ministry of Finance and Economy to deliver on the employment portfolio, including definition of new functions of the National Agency for Employment and Skills.

▪ Provided inputs to the National Labour Migration Policy (promotion of foreign employment, welfare of Overseas Pakistanis and families at home, and re-integration of return migrants).
